Oh Captain My Captain

People used to have a mess of kids to get work done on the farm — a boat is no different. Our favorite chore is "Dinghy Captain": the DC keeps the dinghy inflated and gassed, helps lower it off the davit, and checks the SUPs. After all that work, the DC earns the privilege of driving the dinghy that day (check local regs).
